VDL LUMILAYER PRIMER REVIEW

Hello!
I`m finally back to my blogging mode after 12345431987345701345834597 years.
I decided to start off the first post with one of my favourite brands that I have recently encountered.

VDL cosmetics is a korean mid-range brand that was founded by The Colour Lab of LG Household and Healthcare in Korea. I went into one of the stores myself in Korea and I was amused by the extensive range of innovative beauty products. As I said, they`re mid-range brands that are comparable to Laneige prices (20,000 won to 50,000 won). They are more of the makeup industry side rather than skincare.

VDL lumilayer primer started to gain its popularity since mid-year last year with all the beauty sphere hyping up this product. I wasn't an avid primer person to begin with. Depending on my mood, I only use primers when I need long lasting makeup throughout the day. Otherwise, neh... Our skin is like a canvas, if the canvas is smooth so is our makeup. Many tend to neglect the importance of prepping the skin (this includes myself).

Okay, get ready for some geeky moments! It's called the 'lumilayer' because it uses violet lightflects technology (which are violet pigments) to even out the skin tone and thus radiant and healthy looking skin. By studying the wavelength of the violet light, the products allows multiple layering without removing the skins glow. Because of this, it's suitable for all skin type (dry to oily) depending on ones need. I did some research and tried to convert this into a simpler way. LOL. I usually mixed it with a 1:1 ratio with my foundations and it's more than enough to make my skin stayed moisturised and glowy the whole day.

My recent purchase with this product has made my perception towards primers a whole new level. Ditch those oil controlling matte looking primers. Glowy and healthy looking skin is the IN trend now. My first impression with this product was okay because I was in a rush tested it out on the back of my hand. Smelled relatively pleasant with a tinge of shimmer particles. They were having buy 2 free 1 promotion in store and since I heard abundant of reviews about it, I just bought them. It is very watery, looks white from the bottle but once blended out it gives this nice glowy effect. I have combination skin and I have tried this product in both humid and dry country. Surprisingly enough, it doesn't make my skin feel oily at all and leaves a moisturised feeling.

I didn't try this product just by itself because primers are supposed to go along with foundations. I did some test with foundations, bb and cc creams and it works just as fine for all. I have to give some credibility on its design, simple and comes with a pump! High 5 to products with pump.

Simple glass packaging that comes with a pump.

Not so clear, but you can see the slight shimmers
